Overall purpose of the role:

This is a hands on role where the work can be fast paced and at time demanding. There will be countless opportunities to experience new challenges and learn new skills. You will be required to demonstrate excellent customer care and to be committed to the work of the Destitute Animal Shelter.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the Operations Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure a high performing culture, driving employee and volunteers engagement through effective communication, and by giving and receiving regular feedback.

Care and welfare of all animals at the shelter, including:

cleaning, feeding, walking, training, behavioural training, administering medications, cleanliness of accommodation, grooming, sorting through donations, interacting with members of the public, overseeing meet and greets, dog intake assessments, working on training plans, supervising volunteers and much more

Undertaking any other general duties as directed by the Operations Manager and Deputy Manager and co-operate with other members of staff as required

Person Specification: Essential:

Good standard of education.

Practical experience working with animals.

Working with the general public.

Excellent customer care and communication skills.

Ability to plan and organise on your own

Attention to detail.

Commitment to animal welfare.

Resilient and calm approach.

Act with professional integrity.

Flexible.

Work well within a team.

A good level of physical fitness.

Desirable:

Animal Care Qualification.

An understanding of and commitment to health and safety in the work place.

Creativity and able to help with social media.

A commitment to and understand of the benefits of animal welfare education.

Fundraising knowledge/ideas.

Uk Driving licence.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week

Day shift Every weekend Overtime
