Job Overview:



We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to maintain, and repair air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems and will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation, troubleshooting, and servicing of various air conditioning units and systems.

This is a hands-on role and would suit an individual that can work using their own initiative and have a proactive approach to undertake all tasks required. A conscientious and reliable team player and someone that has excellent interpersonal and communication skills due to this being a client facing role. A Mobile Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to carry out PPM and Reactive Activities in a variety of commercial premises with the ability to produce quotes for additional works by obtaining materials costs and writing up a description of the works required.

Key Responsibilities:



Maintenance

: Perform routine maintenance and servicing on air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and prolong equipment life. Including PPM tasks, such as annual servicing, filter and coil cleans, FGas leak checks, tap temperature testing and flushing, fan coil servicing, functional testing and visual inspection and functional checks of equipment.

Troubleshooting

: Use diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify malfunctions in air conditioning equipment and resolve them efficiently.

Repairs

: Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning units, identifying issues such as refrigerant leaks, electrical faults, and mechanical failures. To carry out works on AC equipment, such as compressor and fan replacement, clear line blockages and replace condense pumps, fault find PCB's and electrical wiring replacing as necessary, repair pipework and complete pressure leak tests, commission systems being put back into service in line with manufacturers guidelines.

System Optimisation

: Ensure air conditioning systems are working at peak efficiency, making necessary adjustments to optimise energy consumption and performance to maximise efficient operation and reliability of plant.

Compliance

: Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Customer Service

: Provide professional customer service by explaining system operations, maintenance tips, and offering recommendations for upgrades or replacements.

Documentation

: Keep accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance schedules, and inventory of parts used. To update/close completed Reactive & PPM tasks on our CAFM System and provide detailed and accurate reports for any remedial works required whilst attending site. Produce technical and situational reports as required.

Team Collaboration

: Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure timely project completion.

Flexible Working

: To participate in flexible working hours and out-of-hours emergency cover as required by the contract.

Training:

To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).

Education

: A relevant qualification in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical engineering

e.g.

NVQ 3 Certificate in Installing and Commissioning Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems NVQ 3 Diploma in Servicing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems NVQ 3 Certificate in Installing and Commissioning Refrigeration Systems C&G 2079 F GAS and ODS Regulations : Category 4.

Experience

: Proven experience as an air conditioning engineer or in a similar role.

Technical Skills

:

Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems and components. Ability to read technical drawings and manuals. Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment.

Physical Requirements

: Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, rooftops, or challenging conditions.

Problem-Solving Skills

: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Communication Skills

: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and report on work progress.

Driving License

: A valid driver's license.

Desired Qualifications:



Additional qualifications or experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems. Combustion (Gas, oil, renewables) Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies and systems.
