Louno Space delivers inspiring and interactive space and STEM workshops to primary school students, sparking their curiosity and passion for science and technology. We are committed to empowering young minds through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that connect the wonders of space to everyday life.
Applicants must be fluent in English, excellent communicators, and comfortable leading large groups of children.
At Louno Space, we provide structured, exciting sessions across a growing number of schools, creating unique opportunities to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators. These roles are ideal for retired teachers, trainee teachers, teaching assistants, students pursuing degrees in education, STEM subjects, or early years care, as well as anyone passionate about working with children and strengthening their CV with valuable teaching experience.
If you share our passion for inspiring the leaders of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the
head coach
is to deliver and lead after-school club sessions. You will work with an
assistant coach
to ensure a safe, enjoyable and educational session. As a head coach, you will be teaching the class and will be responsible for delivering our ready-made lesson plans but will be able to personalise this to the needs of the class.
Lesson resources and equipment will be your responsibility for every session. This includes ensuring the register is taken, laptops are ready for use (if applicable) and teaching resources are organised. You will be given (if applicable) a tablet or laptop that will allow you access to everything you need for every session. Alternatively, you will be given access to our online resources that you can use during the sessions - all materials will be delivered to you before the sessions.
You will need to take initiative in safeguarding responsibilities such as attendance and taking students to be picked up by parents. It is important to be able to arrive on time at the schools and be organised with what is being taught.
Everything you do will be supported by an
assistant coach - for classes of more than 20 children
. However, you will need to be able to take the lead on all aspects of the session.
Qualifications
Experience and qualifications are not essential for this role. We provide training and continuous support for the right candidate to help them grow in their role. A background in tech or education will be beneficial, but what is important in this role is a passion for working with children and teaching vital skills.
We are happy to ascertain a DBS on behalf of the candidate as this is essential for working in schools. This will be paid for if you stay longer than a term.
Working at Louno Space
The core hours are
3:20pm - 4:40pm
. Sessions are generally 60 minutes long; however, you will be paid for any extra time you'll need to arrive early, tidy up, organise the sessions, etc. The role is
part-time
. We aim to send you to schools local to you and to keep you at the same schools for consistency.
We want you to grow in your role and hold regular appraisals and ongoing training to support you.
