WHAT TO EXPECT
The Vehicle Efficiency Definitions team is part of the Vehicle Efficiency group within Vehicle Architecture and Vehicle Engineering. In conjunction with the Program Delivery teams, the Vehicle Efficiency Definitions team is responsible for delivery of the Vehicle Efficiency across all vehicle programmes and the development of associated toolsets. The Vehicle Efficiency definitions teams is responsible for tools, methods, standards, test procedures and CAE capabilities linked to functions of Energy Management, Thermal Energy Management, Heat protection, Aerodynamics, Water- & dirt management, Weights delivery, Road loads delivery, Aero-acoustics.
The team also leads features, capabilities and complex systems engineering within JLR for functions relevant to energy efficiency, thermal energy management, charging thermal robustness, component thermal robustness, control strategy development, thermal performance, airflow management, brake cooling, infotainment thermal management etc
The Vehicle Efficiency CAE Engineer is responsible for tool developments and its deployment into mainstream delivery. They are also responsible for, where necessary, analysis and technical data delivery to support the attribute targets, feature delivery and system delivery. The engineer may also need to develop toolsets for data analytics from customer telematics teams for attribute quality assessments. They will be required to develop, communicate and provide analytical output to efficiency Product Owners as well the Thermal Energy Management lead engineers. They will support the team with results and recommendations including technical reports and presentations as required.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Efficiency Product Owners, Thermal Lead Engineers, Control system teams, Subject Matter Experts (SME\'s) and Technical Specialists (TS\'s), and TASE ODEC (Offshore Design Engineering Centre) and liaise with interfacing teams within Climate Systems, Powertrain Cooling Systems, Powerpack CAE, Battery systems CAE, EDU systems CAE etc, all in support of delivering the Vehicle Efficiency to meet our customers\' expectations.
