Job title: Advanced Technician - Workshop Governance

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Officer to oversee governance and health and safety in the workshop. You will be working with large naval vessel models and interact with multiple high-end testing facilities. This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to become an active and influential part of an extensive and experienced team.

What will you be doing?

• Ensuring Risk Assessments are kept up to date & the team aware of their contents.
• Safe Systems of work are in place & up to date.
• CosHH arrangements are in order.
• The workshops meets/exceeds the expectations of ISO9001 and is prepared for associated audits.
• That inspection standards are set, consistently applied & are the right balance of pragmatic & focussed depending on the levels of risk and complexity - working with those in Design for Manufacture DFM.
• They will be expected to host & manage lifting planning meetings, Machine strategy meetings & ensure records of those are kept.
• The individual will be expected to look after machine maintenance schedules for the workshop - liaising directly with preferred suppliers to coordinate maintenance activities whilst working with schedulers to determine bets timing.

What do I need?

• Experience in managing Health and Safety in a workshop environment.
• Experience of CNC machining and assembly to support if necessary.

Qualifications:

• IOSH
• HNC / HND or apprenticeship coupled with experience
• Health and Safety
• GCSE (Maths & English)
