About the Role




Due to retirement of the current postholder Rochdale Adult Care are seeking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the management team in the Community Occupational Therapy Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants and working with other OT manager colleagues to deliver a responsive service, ensuring that our vulnerable residents are supported to remain safe and independent in the Community. Working with our Social Work and Health colleagues in the Localities you will be jointly responsible for the delivery of the Community Occupational Therapy service, managing the Duty service, supporting staff development and reporting to the Team Manager.


The role is busy and varied and team working is an essential aspect of the post.


About you



We are looking for an experienced Community OT who can prioritise and risk manage their work ensuring that they are meeting the needs of service users and supporting their staff to deliver a comprehensive strength based incremental service. Problem solving skills are essential, and the work involves MDT work with partner agencies including Health and Housing. You will need a sense of humour and the ability to change your plans at short notice. A working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 is essential as well as all relevant legislation that impacts Community work. About us




The Adult Care Service in Rochdale is integrated with Health in the Localities. The OT service works alongside the Locality Teams, delivering a person centred, strength based incremental approach to the residents of Rochdale. The Team is also linked closely to the Prevention Service as well as the STARS Team. Rochdale is an innovative Borough to work for, with a multitude of training opportunities and peer support groups within Social Care. The OTs have their own Practice Development Group (PDG) and work closely across the borough to support and share learning. Supervision is from the Community Occupational Therapy Team Manager.


There are opportunities for hybrid working, dependent on the needs of the service.
