An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Advanced Practitioner in the Mental Health Social Work Team. The role is to provide day to day operational management and support for team members and colleagues in the team. The team undertake work with adults with mental health aged 18 and over, primarily under the Care Act, Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
The Advanced Practitioner will promote best practice standards based on an up-to-date knowledge of social work practice developments and relevant policy and legislation. You will hold an appropriate qualification, Dip OT, BSc OT, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent Management qualification and have experience of strength-based working across agencies to deliver Social Care interventions and service developments.
You will provide professional casework advice, support and guidance to colleagues, including newly qualified Social Workers, trainees and other team members. You will be able to demonstrate expert social work knowledge, and the ability to provide support and guidance on a variety of cases including the most complex cases within the parameters of agreed legislative requirements, policies and practices.
You will provide 1-1 supervisory support to an identified group of staff members within the team, and offer support on processes such as mosaic, and will work closely with other teams within the council and partner agencies to promote an ethos of strengths based, community led support-based practice. The post will be based at Tickhill Road, Doncaster and also incorporate time working from home or other work bases as required. You will have experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties.
