Salary: Starting at \xc2\xa323,118 and increasing to \xc2\xa323,505 pro rata for part-time

Working Hours: Part-time - 75 hours per annum at each location, fixed schedule, during 30 weeks of term time (a contract combining hours at one or more locations may be considered subject to service requirements)

Contract Type: Permanent

This vacancy is an opportunity to work for the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service as a Learning Support Assistant specifically within the Mental Health curriculum which aims to support people to improve their mental health and wellbeing through learning. Courses cover a wide range of topics such as mindfulness, resilience, motivation and confidence building.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working under the guidance of the course Tutor to support learners to achieve their personal learning outcomes as identified in their individual learning plans. The successful candidate(s) will be working with diverse groups of learners in a vibrant and engaging learning environment.

An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the pre-employment checks.

About you - please ensure that you include in your application for this role details of:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in both English and maths
  • Basic digital skills including use of emails and web pages
  • Experience of voluntary or paid work with adults experiencing mental ill health
  • Experience of voluntary or paid work in a learning environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under direction and on own initiative
  • Understanding of the principles of safeguarding
We also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
