What you'll be responsible for:
Providing a comprehensive administrative support to the clinical staff and managers, including management of correspondence, typing of reports, letters etc.
Carrying out general reception duties, including checking in patient details, answering the telephone, ordering ambulances, arranging interpreter services, legal administrative duties/invoices and dealing with routine enquiries etc.
Receiving expected and unexpected visitors to the department and assist them as necessary to ensure their comfort and the completion of their business in the department. This will include staff from health services and other agencies and external visitors.
The registration and referring of patient details, including data collection and inputting on the clinical system (TPP). To manage the medical records and register of patient medical notes and to maintain an up-to-date register of the current population ensuring admission transfer and discharge information follows the patient pathway and report immediately to the managers any information that is missing.
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
Must demonstrate Admin/Secretarial knowledge.
Excellent inter-personal, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to use own initiative and work under direction.
Communicate formally in meetings and in other contexts.
Prepare, record and complete relevant documents for service users and colleagues.
