Job description
This role will be part of the Global Integrated Reporting (\xe2\x80\x9cGIR\xe2\x80\x9d) Team, Global Insurance. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of regular analyses and valuation calculations, for each and all of HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s global insurance entities. This will be primarily supporting reporting teams, but will also impact pricing, investments, capital, and risk functions.
The GIR team is spread around the around the world and works with teams around the world and naturally supports hybrid working. Nonetheless, the UK team is mostly based in London and regular meetings are held in Canada Square, Canary Wharf.
The purpose of the role is:
\xc2\xb7 To contribute to the actuarial and analytical work produced in the following areas: experience analyses, financial reporting, model development and governance, pricing, and ad-hoc project work.
\xc2\xb7 To contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of the processes for the above activities.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
\xc2\xb7 Supporting the principal on relevant aspects of pricing new and existing products
\xc2\xb7 Maintaining standards/requirements for actuarial work undertaken by the team
\xc2\xb7 Contributing effectively to team meetings
\xc2\xb7 Contributing to a productive team environment
\xc2\xb7 Ensuring work undertaken meets best practice and recognized actuarial standards (internal manuals and external as set by professional bodies)
\xc2\xb7 Ensuring compliance with quality control
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
\xc2\xb7 A degree in a numerate discipline (at least second class honours) is essential
\xc2\xb7 A student member of the Institute / Faculty of Actuaries or ability to become one
\xc2\xb7 A part qualified actuarial student with exam passes or exemptions in at least one subject is desirable however not essential
\xc2\xb7 Is able to apply knowledge of financial services products within a working environment
\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of Excel, VBA, Python and/or Prophet
\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate information in an assured and structured manner to all levels of stakeholders
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills
\xc2\xb7 Strong organisational and planning skills
\xc2\xb7 Exemplary presentation skills
\xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively deliver complex information to key stakeholders and ensure understanding
\xc2\xb7 External Third-Party relationship management skills.
