Our 2 Nursing Care Homes are situated close to Derby City centre within easy reach of transport links and bus routes.

Rated Good by our regulators CQC, we provide compassionate support and care for up to 40 residents at both Abbeydale, and at Stanley House.

We have a strong reputation in the local community for providing personalised residential, nursing, and respite care. We also provide supportive and compassionate end of life care.

Job Role:



This is a supervisory and practical role.



Are you flexible to work 4 - 5 days per week, across any days of the week on a rota basis, working 10am - 5pm. Alternate Saturdays are a requirement.

Holiday and sickness cover will also be available.

You will be joining an already established team who plan social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive wellbeing activities which support a sense of place and purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

To build positive relationships with our residents, their families, and visitors helping them adjust to their new life with us. Work with residents, their family members and friends to foster individual lifestyle choices. Be confident in planning and delivering a program of varied and innovative activity. This involves planning 2 different sessions each day ensuring that they are stimulating, imaginative and ultimately meet the needs of individuals. Good literacy skills with the ability to seek feedback, evaluate & record daily outcomes from your weekly programme. Planning, organising and managing events for a large number of people (including family and friends) with varied needs and requests. This includes, but not excessively - seasonal parties, religious/spiritual/memorial services, intergenerational sessions and visits from external entertainment providers. The ability to liaise with with managers, nursing and care teams, and catering department as required. Be computer literate, creating rotas, planning activities, risk assessing, creating posters and developing newsletters. Organise, chair and take minutes for monthly team planning meetings and liaise withe management team as required. Organise regular resident meetings and accurately document and minute the meeting. Be confident to liaise with nurses and multi disciplinary teams by providing regular and relevant information about individuals to ensure a person centred approach to their care.
