Overview of an Active Travel Planner

Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Active Travel Planner to join an expanding team. The role of an Active Travel Planner has a competitive pay rate of \xc2\xa335 per hour to \xc2\xa340 per hour.

The Main Purpose of an Active Travel Planner:

• To assist manage the end-to-end process for schools STARS accreditation
• To liaise with schools
• To encourage schools to promote walking, cycling or using a scooter to travel to schools
• To monitor schools\' performance progress
• To ensure schools are following the advice provided
• To be an advocate for sustainable transport and liaise with other council departments to coordinate promotional / educational initiatives with engineering initiatives and maximise the impact on road users
• To develop and implement campaigns and consultations to publicise travel plans and promote sustainable travel
• To Research and remain conversant with national and regional policy, advice and developments relevant to the implementation of travel plans, travel awareness campaigns and the promotion of sustainable travel, and the TfL STARS program

About you, the successful Active Travel Planner will have:

• Good IT knowledge including Microsoft packages such as excel and access and working
• Extensive knowledge of transport and sustainable transport legislation
• Experienced in working with a range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, or having relevant experience
