The Accounts Payable team at the John Crane UK Shared Service Centre is on an exciting journey to transform its Purchase-to-Pay process. In the past two years it has created a European Shared Service Centre in Slough and another in India for the Middle East and Asia.

The team in Slough serve 16 countries across Europe and has led the implementation of a state-of-the-art AI-driven Invoice Processing system.

To fully exploit this technology, we now want to recruit 2 Accounts Payable Senior Analysts to work with the team in Slough to further automate the processing of vendor invoices and to work with purchasing teams across Europe to improve the automatic matching of invoices to Purchase Orders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable super user for Esker and SAP.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate invoice processing.
  • Accounts Payable data analysis and reporting.
  • Working closely with Purchasing Departments to improve quality of Invoice and Purchase order matching.
  • SAP Concur Process lead for Accounts Payable.
  • Lead testing activities for changes in the Accounts Payable system changes.
  • Documentation of Accounts Payable processes.
  • Act as primary contact within Accounts Payable team for non-standard transactions.
  • Business partnering for assigned customer - Nordics or Spain.
  • Supporting and assisting the rest of the Accounts Payable team.
  • Other Accounts Payable SSC activities as required.

The Individual
  • Having a good understanding of SAP, Invoice processing tools e.g. OCR systems and the end to Purchase to Pay process is essential.
  • Experience of working AP Automation technologies e.g., OCR, RPA etc.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Fast learner with the ability to pick up new systems and processes.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Good communicator with fluency in business English (written and spoken).
  • Experience of working with Senior Stakeholders.
  • Numerate with good accounting knowledge.
  • Effectively plan and prioritise workload.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to work on own initiative is essential.
  • A good team player.
  • Understanding stakeholders and business objectives.
