Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our Finance Team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic, supportive environment. You will receive mentoring to help you grow in your role while assisting with a variety of accounting tasks, including payroll support, data entry, invoice processing, and more. As a family-run company, positive team interaction and a cooperative attitude are essential to our success.
Key Responsibilities
Data entry for financial transactions and record keeping
Processing of invoices, payments, and reconciling accounts
Administer and process DVLA vehicle tax and parking ticket payments
Assist with weekly and monthly payroll processing
Support purchase and sales ledger functions
Conduct debt collection and manage customer account follow-ups
Assist with the reconciliation of bank statements
Utilize Sage Line 50 for financial data entry and management
Perform general accounting duties as requested, including document preparation and reporting
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for financial documentation and communication
Receive mentorship to improve accounting skills and broaden your knowledge of financial processes
Collaborate closely with the finance team, ensuring positive and productive working relationships
Required Skills & Qualifications
AAT part-qualified preferred, but not essential
Working knowledge of debits and credits is essential as is a commercial outlook
Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role (1-2 years preferred)
Proficiency in Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Excellent communication and time management abilities
A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team dynamics
Full training will be given to the right candidate
