Accounts Assistant
Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their established family-owned business in Leeds. The company are a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment.
What\'s the job:
As Accounts Assistant it is your responsibility to process transactional information, contact customers and suppliers relating to payments and provide financial information to assist in the production of the monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
The credit control role would include regular communication with the sales and contracts teams.
Reporting to the Head of Finance and supporting the Group Finance Director where appropriate with initiatives aligned to the strategic business objectives.
A key emphasis in delivering support to the business which is imperative.
What\'s expected of you:
\xc2\xb7 Transactional processing of sales and purchase invoices, cash receipts and payments
\xc2\xb7 Bank reconciliations, expenses management, personnel information
\xc2\xb7 Credit control cash collection via telephone, email, and Teams/face to face if required
\xc2\xb7 Financial accounting processing including journals for depreciation, inter-company etc
\xc2\xb7 Assistance with the production of monthly management accounts within 10 working days of the month end.
\xc2\xb7 Assistance with production of a rolling cash flow forecast and with stocktakes.
\xc2\xb7 Reporting and improvement of financial and non-financial information including KPI\'s
\xc2\xb7 Assistance with the implementation of a new ERP system during the financial year
\xc2\xb7 Manufacturing and operational support to ensure that the costs of the business are accounted for
\xc2\xb7 Support where required for internal and external audits
\xc2\xb7 Compliance with the relevant tax authorities and national legislation.
\xc2\xb7 Positively contribute where appropriate both commercially and operationally to the company
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
\xc2\xb7 Relevant recognised accounting qualification or working towards one.
\xc2\xb7 Possess accounting experience working within an SME manufacturing environment.
\xc2\xb7 Experience and knowledge of financial controls and reporting.
\xc2\xb7 You will be flexible and adaptable
\xc2\xb7 Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of all matters relating to the job purpose.
\xc2\xb7 Clear & proven understanding and knowledge of all responsibilities and procedures.
\xc2\xb7 A self-motivated and driven person with strong communication skills.
\xc2\xb7 Detail oriented and technically strong.
\xc2\xb7 Experience of payroll would be desirable but not essential
Qualification:
AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or working towards qualification
