Accountant - Management / Financial Accountant

Due to an exciting period of growth and expansion, our client, a dynamic international technology business is looking to recruit a Qualified Accountant (CA / CIMA / ACCA) to report to the Financial Director/Group Controller based in Glasgow.
The company is headquartered in the USA with a finance function based in Glasgow City Centre with locations in the USA, UK, Europe & Asia.
Reporting to the Group Controller your remit will be highly varied covering multiple entities in the UK and USA. The role is a combination of management and financial accounting together with commercial accounting activities supporting multiple entities.
Responsibilities will include reviewing financial documents and procedures, month end working papers and preparing quarterly GST/VAT returns. The successful candidate will provide accurate quantitative information on financial position and cash flows of the business, while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Summary
\xc2\xb7 Providing key support to the Group Controller in day-to-day financial reporting activities across multiple locations \xe2\x80\x93 UK & USA.
\xc2\xb7 Month end and year end activities.
\xc2\xb7 Manage accounting transactions, reviewing variances.
\xc2\xb7 Wide ranging monthly accounting activities supporting group companies in the UK & USA.
\xc2\xb7 Audit financial transactions and documents
\xc2\xb7 Intercompany accounting activities.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare monthly and quarterly financial accounts to senior management.
\xc2\xb7 Budgeting and forecasting activities.
\xc2\xb7 Year-end preparation of entity accounts and liaison with auditors and local agents to ensure the smooth closure of year end accounts.
\xc2\xb7 Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
\xc2\xb7 Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor bank levels and make regular payment transfers.
\xc2\xb7 Compute taxes and prepare tax returns (VAT/ GST/ TVA returns)
\xc2\xb7 Publish financial statements in time.
\xc2\xb7 Provide ad hoc financial reports.
The successful candidate will be / will have \xe2\x80\x93
\xc2\xb7 CIMA/ ACCA /ICAS/ACA qualified - essential
\xc2\xb7 BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
\xc2\xb7 A team player and able to perform under time-pressure with minimum supervision, in a growing environment with enthusiasm and a passion to succeed. Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic organisation and respond to needs with urgency.
\xc2\xb7 Year end audit experience and month-end accounting close experience
\xc2\xb7 Experience with general ledger functions
\xc2\xb7 Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
\xc2\xb7 ERP systems experience \xe2\x80\x93 SAP, Netsuite etc
\xc2\xb7 Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
