Pax8 is looking for a skilled and

experienced Accountant

to help us connect the dots who thrives in detail, loves Excel, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape the way we scale.





This is a permanent, hybrid role and you must be prepared and willing to be in office

3 days per week in Farnborough

with regular travel to Bristol and Derby.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the glue between Finance and the rest of the business -- vendors, auditors, internal teams -- making sure the numbers add up, the processes run smoothly, and the insights are clear and actionable.



Here's what your week might look like:


Support

month-end close

for UK entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare or review

balance sheet reconciliations

, owning the detail and spotting anomalies. Work closely with our

FP&A team

, contributing financial insights that feed into budgets and monthly performance reports. Collaborate with

auditors

during year-end to provide clear, accurate information. Seek out

process improvements

, helping us become more efficient while maintaining strong internal controls and SOX compliance. Support

statutory reporting

, including National Statistics submissions and ad hoc reporting for our UK subsidiaries.

What You Bring to the Table

We're after more than just a list of qualifications -- we're looking for a mindset. Someone who sees both the trees and the forest. Here's what would set you up for success:


Solid accounting experience, including

month-end and reconciliations

.

Strong Excel skills

and a love of data -- comfortable reconciling large data sets and working with detail. A natural at

connecting with others

-- able to translate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues. A critical thinker who can spot trends, raise questions, and

challenge budget variances

constructively. Experience with audits and a working knowledge of

internal controls

and compliance (bonus if you're familiar with US SOX). Bring experience with

NetSuite

(a big plus, but not essential), and ideally have been part of an

ERP system implementation

-- you understand how to navigate change and help make systems work smarter. A desire to improve how things are done -- you don't just accept a process, you ask how it could work better. Comfortable working in a

growing, changing business

, where adaptability and ownership go hand-in-hand.




Culturally you'll be comfortable in, and perhaps come from, a complex, fast growing technology or gaming business.
