Job Description

FUZE Accounting is a dynamic and growing accountancy practice based in Colchester, Essex. We provide tailored financial solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from small businesses to established enterprises. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and support our clients' financial success.

Key Responsibilities



Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations. Prepare and publish timely financial statements, management accounts, and reports for both internal and client use. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns (corporation tax, UK & EU VAT) and ensure ongoing tax compliance for clients. Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor company and client liquidity and cash flows. Audit financial documents and procedures, identifying and correcting discrepancies. Prepare budget forecasts and provide financial advice to clients, including tax planning and financial risk analysis. Maintain accounting controls by recommending and implementing policies and procedures. Liaise with clients to gather financial information, answer queries, and provide technical support and advice. Assist with the implementation and management of accounting software and systems. Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements



Proven experience as an Accountant, ideally within an accountancy practice environment. Recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience. Excellent knowledge of UK accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Freeagent, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable.

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
