We have an exciting opportunity available for a student to spend a placement year starting in September in our Manchester office within our Corporate Finance team.

What will you do?
The role will be part of the group's finance team, providing support to the finance business partner and financial control teams.
####

Understand how to prepare a set of management accounts

Key responsibilities
Report into the finance business partner team
Provide analysis & commentary on weekly and monthly KPI reports for the group
Post accruals, prepayments and other journals as part of the monthly management accounts process
Support the business partners in monthly and quarterly work in progress review, including the preparation of monthly journal and detailed analysis of unusual movements
Assist with the budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
Assist with working capital control for the group via work in progress and debtor analysis
Support business partners in project work through production of reports and analysis in order to drive business performance improvements
In addition, there will be opportunities to gain experience in our financial control team over the course of the placement.

What are we looking for?
Currently studying for an accountancy degree, with an expected minimum 2:1
Strong Excel skills
Excellent communication skill
High attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proactive, with a willingness to learn and take initiative
Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles is desirable
Must have the right to work in the UK
