The group has invested significantly in the development of digital/multimedia services for both existing and potential markets, whilst ensuring best in class content services are provided through its growing B2B business. Spotlight Sports Group is a leading digital publisher and content provider with a number of world-class websites, spearheaded by the Racing Post Mobile App, Racingpost.com, MyRacing.com and Freesupertips.com and Pickswise.com

The group also delivers a significant content services portfolio to the sports betting and iGaming industries, offering a broad ranging supply of news, analysis, opinion and verdicts, in multiple formats, across all sports and in over 68 languages. Through the ICS Digital business the group also operates a global content marketing agency delivering market leading SEO and translation services.

We are looking for an Account Director to join our Media Services division to work from our London office upto 2 days per week and occasionally representing SSG at trade shows and external events. The predominant focus of this role will involve account management and retention, with a 10% emphasis on new business development. Your key responsibility will be to identify and foster new opportunities, cultivate relationships, and convert them into tangible sales prospects.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

  • Drive sales across various revenue-generating media channels, including Print Advertising, Display Advertising, Content Marketing (AV), and Affiliated Digital Partnerships throughout the group.
  • Lead the creation of proposals and negotiate deals to facilitate new business across diverse customer segments.
  • Oversee day-to-day management and upselling of contracted Racing Post Media clients, utilising expert partnership management to provide top-notch service to Spotlight Sports Group\'s customers.
  • Effectively manage the customer pipeline, CRM, and forecasting documentation, consistently providing accurate market insights.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Media Sales, assuming various management duties as required, such as business reporting, pipeline management, customer analysis, and implementing market-leading sales materials.
  • Identify fresh opportunities within the online and land-based gambling market and the wider racing industry, taking a global approach to marketing services.
  • Foster external relationships and take ownership of the sales process to secure new profitable business across all relevant sales channels.
  • Act as a product or brand champion for specific SSG products or services, as directed by the Head of Media Sales.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and recommendations concerning new and existing products or services within SSG Media services.
  • Provide insightful commercial analysis to the Head of Media on ways Media channels can enhance profits through their assets.
  • Manage a strategic pipeline of potential business activities and provide regular comprehensive internal reports, including thorough customer needs analysis where applicable.
  • Develop business cases and sales documentation (including contracts and SLAs) to quantify new sales opportunities.
Requirements
  • Sales-driven mindset.
  • Experience and familiarity with the gambling/gaming industry.
  • Experience in contracting and managing high-spending clients.
  • Knowledge of new media distribution channels and their dynamic nature.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to generate new ideas.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, as evidenced in previous roles.
  • Proficient analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
The application deadline for this position will be 31st August, and the initial round of interviews will commence in the week starting on the 4th of September 2023.

The interview process will be a video call with our Head of Media Sales, aimed at getting to know you better, gaining a more profound understanding of your experience, and sharing additional details about this exciting opportunity. The following and final stage will occur in person at our London head office.
