Company Overview:
Excel And Emerge Care have the need for a Part-time Finance Assistant to join the team in our busy, growing business. The position will involve a lot of purchase invoice processing to keep the department up to date.
The Accounts Assistance position will be based in our friendly Stoke-on-Trent office with the Finance and Central Office Team.
The company has several therapeutic Residential Children's Homes in the Staffordshire and Cheshire area with imminent plans for expansion to be able to help even more young people in need from the age 8 to 18.
The group also runs an independent School for children ages 5 to 13 who experience social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be required to take a role specific aptitude test.
They will also be required to carry out a DBS check with children.
Job Specification:
Tasks including, but not limited to:
Collating petty cash receipts from multiple locations and inputting into excel spreadsheets, documenting split VAT and nominals
Collating paper copies of purchase invoices and receipts, then nominal coding
Sage Accounts:- Creating new customer and supplier accounts
Posting sales, purchase bank transactions and journals entries
Bank reconciliations from multiple accounts
Issuing sale and purchase statements and liaising with customers and suppliers
Assisting with VAT returns
Collating timesheets and processing monthly payroll for multiple companies. For a mixture of both salaried and shift staff
Other general finance admin tasks
Attributes of the successful candidate
:
Competent and experienced in using Sage One or Sage 50 accounts software
A knowledge of VAT rates and items that qualify in company expenditure
Good knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures and processes on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
Ideally AAT qualified or part qualified (this is desired, but not essential depending on timed-served experience)
Punctual and self-motivated with the ability to demonstrate good time management and working to deadlines
Ability to multi-task
Tidy and methodical approach to carrying out tasks
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to take instructions but also show initiative
