Career Teachers are looking for an experienced Academy business manager to work with the Head Teacher, Senior Leaders and wider team, in finance and school administration including Human Resources support. The Primary setting is based in the Wakefield area and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high quality and efficient service, providing a range of support across the Finance/HR functions to the Academy, including budget monitoring, payroll processing, purchase ledger, billing, and HR administration. Roles and Responsibility: Finance & Administration Management Responsible for the administration and the payment of all invoices for expenditure and income collection in accordance with payment timescales and the School\'s procedures. Provide the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and governors with specific expertise and advice in relation to the long-term financial planning for the school. Management of the bi-monthly staff payroll. Ensure the school has appropriate financial systems, managing all aspects of the school finances, including the school fund, and to be responsible for the effective management of these systems and administration, ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations. Major contribution to the setting and monitoring of the school budget in liaison with the Headteacher. Provide accurate analysis of the school budget, identifying trends, potential over / under spends and provide detailed reports to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership team and governing body in a timely fashion. Responsible for the collection, accounting and banking of all cash received by the school including the preparation of the school\'s funds account and recommendations on the most appropriate investment initiatives. To interpret financial regulations and provide advice to staff on the effective use of financial systems and procedures. To initiate and manage all audit procedures to comply with all audit requirements, for all funds. Overseeing both the internal and external audits. To ensure financial summaries, variances and other related reports are produced and distributed to the Head teacher and Governing Body, as required. Attendance at full governing body, appropriate sub committees and any other relevant meeting as directed by the Headteacher. Responsible for the management of the whole school administrative function, ensuring that there are appropriate and relevant administrative systems in place to support the school in its aims and goals. Handling school facilities management, along with overseeing school Health & Safety, procurement and compliance and additional site management as required. Liaison with an external Accountant, payroll company and auditors regularly. Skills & Experience Required: Experience of working in a Finance setting within a school/academy. Experience of providing Finance/HR support in an Education environment Knowledge of the Single Central Register (SCR) checks required for a School environment Knowledge of the DBS and safeguarding regulations for the employment of staff Qualifications: Essential: NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification e.g. I.L.M.
