RAN1 Standardisation Engineer - Hybrid - Permanent - \xc2\xa375,000

We are seeking an excellent RAN1 Standardisation Engineer to join our client, a large telecommunications company based in Surrey, UK.

This role of RAN1 Standardisation Engineer involves working at the forefront of wireless communications technology standardisation and research. You will be heavily involved with and possibly have the opportunity to lead idea generation and standardisation lifecycle depending on your person skills, experience and wants.

Responsibilities

• Attend 3GPP RAN1 meetings, preparation and presentation of Tdocs in RAN1 meetings.
• Reporting on outcomes of all 3GPP RAN1 meetings.
• Participate in the RAN1 back office function, specifically idea generation.
• You will be a key technical authority for our client, being proactive and striving for excellence.
• Providing consultancy and guidance to our clients product implementation teams.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

• 3GPP RAN1 standardisation activities, as a delegate.
• Proven track record of idea generation and innovation in the wireless communications physical layer area.
• Expert knowledge of mobile telecommunications technology (LTS, LTE-A and 5G NR)
• Base station design technology knowledge (Layer 1 & Layer 2; and MIMO)

Desirable Experience & Knowledge

• Link-level simulation experience
• System-level simulation experience
• C++ & Python
• Version control and configuration management
• Patent origination experience

Education & Qualifications Required

• Degree level education - communications, electronics, software engineering, physics of mathematics preferably.
• Eng/MSc./PhD would be a bonus

This role will also involve long-haul overseas travel to 3GPP RAN1 meeting, typically 8 times per year.
