Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of excavation processes and be adept at operating excavators for various construction projects. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring high-quality work is delivered on time.

Duties

Operate excavators to demolish structures Operate excavators to dig, move, and grade earth materials as per project specification Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate excavation activities. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Perform routine maintenance on excavators, identifying any mechanical issues that may arise. Assist in the training of new operators as required, sharing knowledge of best practices.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria: Must hold a valid CPCS or NPORS 360 operator card Minimum 2 years would be preferred The ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards Evidence of recent regular grader or roller operation in a civil engineering or mining environment Able to work in remote locations Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) and the duties of operators Understanding of environmental protection requirements Flexible to work shifts and overtime when required Being reliable and able to develop new skills The ability to carry out duties unsupervised, in harsh weather conditions, and during irregular hours when required The ability to follow written and verbal instructions Excellent reporting skills You must have a valid ID which allows you to work in the UK Proven experience operating excavators in a commercial setting is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Ability to dig accurately according to project plans and specifications. Valid driver's licence for commercial driving is advantageous. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. A commitment to maintaining high safety standards on site is essential.

Pay: 18.50-20.36 per hour
