Working in Partnership with North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) NHS Trust, Brook Street are looking to recruit for the following long-term temporary positions.
Role: NHS 111 Health Advisor
Locations: Middlebrook, Bolton
Pay Rate Band 3 \xc2\xa311.67 per hour with an out of hours and weekend & Bank Holiday shift allowance
Duration: start date 23rd October after 12 weeks there is opportunity for candidates to be employed on a permanent contract with NWAS, (please note that this is subject to satisfactory levels of attendance and overall performance and staffing levels).
Training
The training will be 7 weeks in total - 5 weeks in the classroom Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00 and 2 weeks preceptorship (mentorship), working a variety of shifts which may include evenings and weekends. Here you will get your first taste of taking calls in a supportive and safe environment.
The training will include 3 assessments which must be passed for your employment to continue.
During the training period, annual leave is not allowed.
37.5 hours - You must be able to work full or pat time shifts across. The shift options are:
For 30 and 37.5 hours we are looking for availability between 16:00PM - 02:00, 15:00 - 01:30 am working 6/8 weekend shifts per month.
We are looking for reliable and committed individuals to support the exceptional NHS 111 Staff within the Service control Hubs on an ongoing project within non-emergency operation centres.
You will be working amongst very busy Ambulance Staff, Medics, and other Emergency and non-emergency services Personnel. It will be your responsibility to manage challenging situations calmly and with patience before progressing them through the right channel. You will be responsible for answering a range of telephone calls from patients and or health care professionals. The role may also involve signposting patients to appropriate services and other administrative tasks. You will also be required to record important information onto internal systems, therefore, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail is essential for this role.
This is a high-pressured and busy environment, so we are looking for strong professional applicants with exceptional customer service skills, call centre experience and come from a health and social care background, this must be demonstrated on your CV. You must be good at communicating with all different types of people. You must be patient, have empathy and the ability to make decisions on your own when needed. You must be proactive and enjoy working as part of a team in a bust and demanding environment.
We are looking for candidates who have the ability to work in this fast paced, highly pressurized environment so if you come from a retail, health care, call centre, hospitality background then we would be excited to hear from you.
Ideally you must be able to drive due to location of work, but not essential if you arrange your own transport, and be willing to potentially travel to a different North West location for training - free parking on site. You will be required to attend 6 weeks of full-time classroom-based training and will be asked to take two assessments between this time period (these hours will be approx. 8-4 Monday- Friday).
You must be able to provide us with full referencing details and you pass a Criminal Records Check.
You will be required to complete a full registration once we have telephoned screened you.
